Would anybody know the rough weight of a pair of Simpson davits .
Get out your measuring tape and check them against this list http://www.cooneymarine.co.uk/pages/davits-traditonal.html
Took mine off, never used and get in the way when mooring in confined spaces ie on non tidal waters.
Also, if not being used why have all the weight of davits/dinghy outboard etc hanging off the back making the nose of the boat point even more skywards.
Dead weight on most boats and more usually an unsightly half deflated grubby saggy eyesaw than much used boon. ?
However the Princess 35 was built in the days when a 35 foot boat was 35 feet long and it was built to last. No disrespect to Sealine in any way of course.
The davits are connected to half a ton of hidden steel framework hidden away and a real b*****r to dismantle. Not a job to be taken on lightly.

On form as ever:encouragement:
I bought some Simpsons on Fleabay. When I collected them I was dismayed at how heavy they were. Together more than the tender which weighed in at ~40 kilo. I went the lighter plastimo pole variant instead. However the sturdiness of the Simpsons is unquestionable, maybe they were designed by Princess back in the middle ages when Oldgit fell off the bus?
