I have owned a silhouette MKII no 878 for the past 16 years. How many silhouettes are left I wonder, have they gone the way of most ply wood boats?Who knows anything about them,do you own one ? Have you ever owned mine?Is there an owners club ?

silhouette association

This reply is now ten years old!...but have only just seen it.

I own a lovely Mk11 ply boat built in 1994...so almost new. Beautiful boat!
There is an active Silhouette Owners International Association (just google SOIA).

You probably got hold of them 10yrs ago !!
Cheers!

My very first sailing experience was in a Silhouette, I was about 14 at the time and my dad's friends had just bought the moulds for them. Scared the life out of me on Rutland Water - I remember looking out of the cabin windows and seeing the water go over the windows, thought I was a gonner! Would've saved me a fortune if it had put me off for life :D
