I bough a semi flexible solar panel which I plan to attach to the coach roof. Not sure which is best to use, drill holes for screws or afix with Sikaflex. If I use the latter do I cover the whole area under the panel with the compound or just a number of spots. Also if I wish to remove panel for whatever reason can the sikaflex be easily removed with some solvent or is it stuck to the surface like tar to a road?

I pretend to know what I'm talking about, just like everyone else!

Avoiding screws thru' the deck is not a bad idea.

You could stick it down with Sika 11FC (Fast Cure) but I would also look around for some sort edge protection to prevent anything getting under it and perhaps damaging it.

I used Sikaflex to install my Solaras and had no problems so far (2 years). Last year I had to replace one of them and it took 20 min of swearing to cut the sikaflex with a blade. I used the same method again for the replacement panel.

Take care to use only a perimetric line of sika at about 5cm (or 2") from the edge of the panel so that you can cut it if necessary.

Thanks for your thoughts.......think I will screw down and use a little sikaflex to seal up the holes and cover the screwheads.I'm told the panels have a habit of walking if its too easy to remove....cheers Russ
