I posted earlier looking for info about the Sigma 292 as I am considering the purchase of a 1984 Model here in Canada. I am wondering if the Hull and Deck are solid fiberglass or cored. Can anyone help me with this. Also wondering about any known problems. Thanks

don't think you will get any more just by posting again with the same question. As already advised the hulls are solid. The deck may well have cored areas as this was quite common at the time and usually nothing to worry aboutas the factory fit parts will not be in cored areas, so only potentially an issue if fittings have been added to cored areas. Marine Projects boats were very well built but after 30 years it is important to have a survey before buying. Don't think thee is any owners association for the 292 a so few were built, but it is essentially a slightly shrunk 33 and you might want to contact the very active 33 class association here en-gb.facebook.com/groups/163596237013771/

Thanks very much. I see in sailboatdata.com they say the construction is FG so I would assume that means at least the hull is solid fiberglass. Cheers

Sailboatdata is not a reliable source for construction details. Cored hulls were not common when that boat was built, at least for production boats, but as suggested cored panels on decks were, but not in areas where there were fittings. In those places it was common to bond in marine ply pads. A surveyor will check moisture levels which will likely show high if water has got into a cored laminate. You can also test for delamination simply by walking on deck areas as you can usually feel delamination. There are far more important things to worry about on a boat of this age!
