A day in the sunshine yesterday, sorted the electronic questions then had time to look at the boats.

Hadn't really intended to look seriously but the RM1070 did really start me thinking about if it's now is a good time to get something smaller/more handleable. It was the only boat that got me excited and I must say I might even have to take this concept further. The power of boat shows!

What boats might seriously temp folks, not dream boats but ones that you might actually buy?

We'll need to sell that nice Dehler 39 of yours then :encouragement:

The RM is a sharp looking machine.

Pleased to find that there was nothing that would tempt me more than the boat I bought, although if circumstances were different then another 37', probably a Bavaria in the Med would be my choice. If money was not a constraint then the Nauticat 385 would do me nicely.

Looked at the new Legend and agree with Topcat47. The Benny 35 equally superficially attractive but all the windows in the hull made it feel like a Wallace Arnold tour coach.

Good to bump into Tranona yesterday and he is one happy chappie with his new boat.

Today I liked the Contest and the Saare and for when I turn to the dark side in my dotage I still love the Nordhavn (although we lost the youngest on board it for 5 mins!)

Best bit today though were the Red Arrows performing over Southampton Water - amazing flying https://www.facebook.com/JohnRodriguezYachts/posts/1123369647692133

My Son & I were on the Global Challenge yacht just off the pontoon when the Arrows were over head , because of the number of spectators on the pontoon we wernt allowed to come alongside , shame , we just had stay and watch from the deck , best seats in the house I'd say .

Yes, you were right in front of where we were so you would have definitely had the best view.

Anything by Spirit Yachts. They are things of beauty. I went aboard the 46 and had a long chat with one of tHe builders. He even solved a problem I am having making a new mast gaiter for my own keel stepped mast. Beautiful boats, great staff. If only I could afford one.

The thing that struck us was how big all the boats were. Not many under 40ft, and lot 50ft+

Not many under 40ft??

Which show did you go to??? :0)

Winner 8 and Winner 9, RM 890, Maxi 1200, Sirius 35, Hanse 315, 345 (or 375) all of Cornish Crabbers, all of Swallow Yachts, Dufour 382, Jeanneau 349, legend 31, j boats (a least 2), Rustler 37, Bavaria 33 and others.... That's just off the top of my head, and there were many many more.....I could go on, but I think I've made my point ;0)

HR 64 for sure :-)

Likely to buy?....wow! I'm gratified to be allowed on a forum that has chaps that rich.
Also it seems some forumites are looking to buy a Spirit Yacht or maybe downsize the house for an Amel 54.
