Which would you go for??

Sealine T46 or
Sealine T47

The T46 has seperate dinette and aft cabin, so greater privacy, or T47 with spacious lounge area, and overall good looks??

All part of whitling down the list of boats I have made!!

T46 every time. The aft cabin aft cockpit set up is unique and fantastic, imho. Styling and build qwality are identical, imho, but aft cabin is much better place to sleep (square cabin, not triangle, and no plop noise as wavelets hit chine) and for people to snooze on long trips (it's still, whereas front cabin is a roller coaster ride), and better privacy when guests on board etc. So, no contest imho

Crucial point buying a sealine is avoid the dodgy internal colours that 50% of them seem to be built with, though the T series are better.

Re: eezy peezy

it's all a matter of personal choice - i would go for aft cockpit over aft cabin every time. Aft cabin boats can tend to look a little like caravans, plus to miss they aren't as sociable as aft cockpits where people can sit in the saloon and others out on the aft deck and still have a conversation.

Also, another personal choice, I love sleeping in the front cabin when going along - the movement is fab !! And it's not a triangle.

Agree with jfm. Nice design that the T47 is, its similar to any other 47 footer on the market whereas the T46 is an excellent design with a unique aft cabin/aft cockpit arrangement. I think the dinette version is the one to go for rather than a third cabin as it can always be converted to a bed. The hull is a Bennett design so its a good seaboat as well

Thanx for your advise guys! The layout of the T46 is great, but the T47 is a better looker!! May also possibly be able to change drive system, as its a sealine (as not possible with others im looking at, princess 45, phantom 46 etc etc) to arnesons, or trimax (possibly, if i ask extremely nicley!! and pay the extra ofcourse) Just imagine, 35 knots with twin 480's with over 1mpg! (not that impressive, but good for a boat this size!!)

Perfect!

Re: Careful

Um, I wd beware of having the strangest model in an otherwise standard market, no? Of course, depends how long you will keep it. Well, no it doesn't - it'll always be weird, and worth no more than a standard boat, or perhaps even less.

Agree with you Pauline, I hate the caravan jobs too. But the T46 has aft cockpit AND aft cabin. Very clever bit of design that others should copy imho. The headroom in the aft cabin is given by the space that is normally under-bench lockers in an aft cockpit boat. The only bit with low headroom is directly over the bed, which I accept might have consequences

here's a pic of it

oh yes - I've been on one. Best of both worlds. So the TS is the bi-sexual of the boat world.

Re: eezy peezy

Hm, this lack of headroom would preclude, say, having breakfast in bed, i bet. Agree that lying in a flying bed is exciting - we watch the Simpsons at full tilt, very appropriate.

Having once owned a 410 which is the little brother to the 450, I can tell you that not only is sitting up and having breakfast in the aft cabin bed difficult but having sex in any position other than the missionary is nigh on impossible and even then you have to be careful that your backside does'nt smack the ceiling
