Should Marinas Be More Accountable to Berth Holders

I'm a raggie and I regard myself as pretty reasonable at docking but I would never, ever, criticise or find it amusing if someone was asking for help. I have had assistance from the harbourmasters dorys at yarmouth on 2 occassions when conditions were somewhat tricky.

+1. When we had our boat it was sometimes a little too windy than I was comfortable with. We'd park the boat somewhere in the marina (Port Solent) that we knew we could get to without any damage and then asked the marina if they could move it to our berth when convenient for them. In those days the annual marina fee used to include a few valet movements, other times there was a nominal charge. The guys working there were perfectly happy to do this, better I suspect than having me bouncing off neighboring boats.

Just to point out - I never mentioned the type of boat, sail or power, that was involved in the incident that I witnessed!!

Thanks for the clarification - The main purpose of this thread is to try and alleviate the number of boats that get hit in a marina whether by berth holder or visitors alike and to try and ensure that all damage however caused is accountable to minimalize the number off hit and runs that seem to be happening especially during the busy summer period.

Many thanks also for all who have participated and read this thread so far :encouragement:
