Yerbut that introduces yet another factor into the debate: "what is the best anchor to use in fog?"

With the standard roller-reefing Genoa rig, I've not worked out how you hoist a cone that will be visible from both port and starboard sides anyway, fog or no fog.

I'm going to invent a plastic triangle with a safety pin at the top, so that you can attach them to the middle of the genoa, as you hurtle along in deep fog, blowing on your plastic football hooter.

With the standard roller-reefing Genoa rig, I've not worked out how you hoist a cone that will be visible from both port and starboard sides anyway, fog or no fog.

With some boats around these parts, they could get one sewn onto the mainsail.

Don't forget to include flag etiquette in fog as well??? And whilst your at it you might like to solve the best way and type of anchor lights (LED, 12v bulb or hurricane lamp).
