Ive been mainly resident on the MBY forum till now and have a Princess 32 of considerable vintage (1973) on the Thames so I guess that makes me a Motor Boater. However, in an earlier life I had sailing cruisers (Caprice, Hurley22, Tomahawk) on the Hamble and before that drove big ships for a living.
I'm getting a bit fed up with the inane banter over on MBY and, as I do most of my own maintenance cos a) cash needs watching and b) I actually enjoy it, I'm beginning to wonder if my proper place in life (forum speaking that is) shouldnt be here with PBO. What does the panel think?
(PS Please dont let the MBY lot know I'm asking.......)

PBO reader to reader is mainly about trouble shooting and hands on stuff.I dont see why you cant post on either as you see fit, or even on scuttlebutt if it takes your fancy.
Surely you are not so naive as to think the MoBo spies wont spot you here;-)

what\'s all this then, hm?

Harumph. Your boat is indeed aged, B1, but imho, not anywhwere near busted enough for full-time PBO membership. For example, you bought a new steering wheel instead of buggering around with the old one or making a new one out of coathangers or adapting something from a Rover or a skip.

If you use a credit card more often than sandpaper, you aren't PBO.

Also, even asking this question is a bit MBC-ish in that it is a bit banterish and chatty.

Next time, perhaps ask worried and urgent questions regarding different brands of masking tape, and keepem short - the true mark ofa PBO-er is that they are up to their arms in sandpapring, paint, varnish, grease, antifoul, or general marine muck and will bust their puter if they use the keyboard too much.

That steering wheel looks pretty good. Its a 70's design but doesn't have a King spoke from what I can see. Stick around and at least tell us how you got the wheel and the dash looking so good.

Know where you are comign from B1 - i find both sites good and useful.. thsi one tends to have more advice on it... where as the Mobo Chat is more for just that.. Chat!

Suggest we keep checking both and shove our humble opinions in as and when we need to!

Cheers,

C

Re: BUSTED!!!

I'm gonna tell!
Although as the fella on the last post suggested, why not cruise both sites using PBO for serious, practical info and MBY for banter and chat.
I suggest you go to MBY now and come out of the closet.
See ya
Syd

The wheel is a rather nice solid teak affair manufactured by Stazi and purchased from a chandlers. It replaced a cold stainless steel one
The dash refurb has been largely a case of recovering panels etc with a burgundy leather effect vynil fabric and also putting some life back into tjhe plastic instrument panels with a black plastic restorer/polish used for car bumpers etc. . Princess 32's are notorious for acres of wood effect formica and I have been using a considerable amount of the vynil fabric to cover some of the formica panels and hatch covers etc. Beginning to look very nice.

Strange is it not...............

I ask a perfectly reasonable question inviting comment from PBO'ers and 4 out of 6 replies are from MoBoChatters!
Better go back home I suppose - Oldgit's threatening to give me a slap for being out late.
PS If any of you PBO types would like to put photos of your boats on the web you are welcome to join the MoBoChat lot on my site (see below)
