With the forth coming Winter soon to be here.

The marina currently used has not sufficient shore power outlets for every berth/mooring.

But a good friend and I share the costs of an outlet, taking in turns whoever is on their boat etc. and use the power.

As winter is on its way, we both want to use the power full time to try and keep our boats frost and condensation free with Tube Heaters etc..

Anyone know where to find a twin outlet 16 amp (Blue) industrial socket or anyway to share the power between us fulltime.

thanks

Swindlery usually has loads - be careful with fixed 3 way splitters though. They are ok in pillars with just 1 or two outlets on them but can end up blocking other sockets. If buying again I would go for a totally flexible one - i.e. tw sockets at the end of a shoprt length of cable wired to a plug

I made up my own using 1 plug and two sockets and a metre of wire.Very easy to do just using a screwdriver and a penknife to strip the wires and some silicon sealant from poundland to seal up the plug where the two wires go in.

Thanks Guys,

Will be popping down town and get some bits and pieces to make mine up the simple way.

Was thinking of the hard type of 2 or 3 way splitter, but as already mentioned. Could be prone to knock off or interfering with others.

Thanks

I have a socket on a one meter flying lead doubled into my own shorepower lead. That enables anyone to piggy back and when sockets are short and my lead is usually the last one someone pulls out when I'm not about!

Oh just another ghastly lash up with two cables poked through the same gland them!

To be honest I doubt if you'd get two cables through the gland of my plug , or in the cord grip either for that matter !
