shore power on hard standing

just a quick winge, on returning from our boat today i was surprised to see the amount of raggies on the hard hogging all the available shore power outlets when they are in the water they dont use them on a 24hr basis as i do ie float batt chgr ect, i also get snide remarks from the raggies that me being pluged in all the time causes more electrolosis on there boats that are near to me, but surely i should worry more having 9 grand's worth of outdrive & engine havent they heard of anodes, im getting fed up with these sort of people, i do my best to accomodate all types but comming down to the boat in the summer to find my lead has being unpluged is unfair.
When we get our new boat i am considering the medway up river of rochester bridge at least they cant get there, sorry for the extended winge cant spell eithere

Surely if you are paying a mooring fee you have your own plug in. At our's each post has 4 outlets, each colour coded and lockable. When I have finished plugging in I just unhook, fit my padlock and put the cables away. If electricity is a free-for-all maybe it's a cheap mooring and you are glad to have it?

Many of us here post on scuttlebutt and meet with them, and they are just as varied in real life as stinkies are. All the raggies I've met on scuttlebutt are decent likeable considererate people.

Some of the stinkies I see at sea are incompetant inconsiderate oiks.

I'm at Gillingham Marina (Parhams), quite good and certainly wouldn't move at any of those local. GM is well sheltered so tends not to get the extremes of weather that the others do.
Strange thing is that I'm the only one on the forum who is there! Most of the others are at Chatham Maritime.

Marinas are for you sensitive types ,who could not imagine any sort of marine existance happening more than 25M from the shorepower point and from the shops with a bit of water deep enough to float a boat located nearbye./forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

Discussed over a beer, and at great length, your post with my brother in law who is a stinkie. We decided there were two parts to the problem.
AAA. More boats then power points which must be known to all concerned, so this isn't going to change. So we move on to
BBB. There is obviously a big lack of knowledge in the raggie brigade who are giving you grief by stealing your power point.
So over the second pint we came up with two answers
111. You need to deliver a letter to all the raggies explaining that in the case of shortage of power points then motor boats have priority over all raggies and have a 100% claim to 24/7 plug in.
222. Ever thought that just maybe you could share???
