shore power in france.

99.9% are Euro (Blue)3 round pin connectors

I made up the Euro to cable roll connector the 15 amp French /most european socket to cable roll and one with nothing that way if i find an odd socket, and you do,i simply put the wires in the socket with a wooden help

It's SOOOOO free :) that our boat resembles a branch of Curreys when we go away.

We have a 240v ring main powering:

Kettle, toaster, oven/grill, heater, calorifier, hair dryer, battery charger, phone/camera/pc/vhf chargers , reading lamps, cuddly toys :D

Very comfortable existence

I bought this off ebay for use on the caravan and the boat. it caters for al eventualities with regard to shore power and also with the disconcerting habit of some european installations reversing the polarity. i know its ac and therefore doesn't make a difference, but there is some safety issue about which side of the power supply is live if and when a circuit breaker goes. anyway for £25 it beats messing about with heath robinson fixes.

going to france for the first time in 2 weeks, will i need an adapter for the
shore lead or are they the same fittings as ours. thanks in advance for your answers.

Same as UK. Just be aware that you often get just 5 amps so bigger items such as an electric kettle can trip the switch. We carry a low wattage (1.5 kw) kettle just in case. Also sometimes the electricity is on a 12 hour timer to prevent the locals from permanently using heaters in unoccupied boats.

all UK equivalent plugs.... not use a 2 pin plug in a marina in France for at least 10 years now.... as above just watch the polarity...

It varies but is not usually a problem.

Not so in my experience. Depends where you go. On the Brittney and Normandy coasts it varies even within a marina. we carry a range of connectors and wire up something when we get there if needed. Local connectors are often available locally in the fisherman's collective store. If the facility is more modern then likely the same connector as the UK but the polarity will be questionable.

Dunmor: as has been noted by others there can be quite a variety of sockets and polarity is often reversed. This may or may not be an issue depending if your 12v board is polarity protected. Ours is, so we carry a short (12") cross over adapter to get around this - just a socket connected to a plug with the live and neutral wires swapped on the socket. Plug the adapter into the supply and then the cable into the adapter. Simples!
