This morning I received some shore power connectors male and female and I am blown away by their quality, they are made by a company called Gewiss. The ones I normally buy from chandlers are usually held together by mild steel screws which invatiable rush so I have taken to replacing the supplied screws with stainless screws. Some screws are so badly corroded that the plugs have had to be replaced. The Gewiss connectors are of all plastic design so there is nothing to corrode and are ideal for the salty environment they are used in. They also seem to be far better protected from water ingress than those sold in chandlers. I like to support chandlers and I know we pay over the top but they are usually open when I need tham and so I don't mind that but I can't stand being supplied second rate quality. I have no connection with this company but I am really please with my purchase.

I had the exact same, a 16A plug that would trip when it rained too heavily and which I had to dry out with the marina hairdryer.

I've been really impressed with the CEENorm inline plugs and sockets - they have really good weather sealing where the cable enters at the back. Sorry. can't immediately find a pic of that.

A nice addition I found is the tiny led on the plug which is switched on when the plug/cable is live. Most pontoon sockets here have timers or switches with all sorts of logics, one connects the plug and does not know if current is available or not (except asking people onboard to check), the led makes it easier to plug somewhere else until it's lit :)
