I vaguely remember seeing a link on here to a simple all-in-one-box shore power unit but I'm obviously no good at searching tonight. Can anyone point me in the right direction please? I want to fit shore power to our 30ft Hanse and keep it as simple as possible. Ideally 3 sockets and one for the calorifier plus battery charging.

Try Local electricl supplier & look for a "garage unit" - damp proof box, RCD & 2mcb's - I use one for mains elec & 1 for charger. Cost £30 is iirr?
Also in BnQ but cost more last time I looked

Yes I know what you mean i fitted one on my old boat. single box which includes your breakers for your ring main, battery charger on your output side. easy to fit, hardest part was to route the ring main through the boat.

mine from memory was made by hi-tec integral plastimo also made them at the time....... i bought mine from the boaty electrical place in poole. I willsee if i can find what i mean on the web for you. if i was to fit shore power again i would fit one of these boxes.

This maybe ?

similar to what I fitted...

right hand side in the picture you have your input wires from pontoon coming into box.

left hand side just connect battery for charging and wires for ring main.

bingo every thing in one box.

cant find the one i fitted at present.

You could try talking to Aztec at Hamble Point Marina who do all the electrical work for the Hanse sales office there. I am sure they could supply all the bits that they use to do what you want and advise on cable routing etc as they do it every week on Hanses. Peter or Dominic at Hanse can put you in touch if you want to go down that route.

Yes this was the unit i installed on my old boat. was very pleased with it. as you say you can buy the same unit from plastimo in a different colour box and there name on for more money.

As said above try the link below for merlin power, I bought one of the combined chargers/breaker boards and am impressed with the unit and the service of this company, they can tell you all you need to know. I agree the hardest job was routing all the cable out of sight
