Anyone got any thought on this. Seems to be a usefull source of data but would be totally dependent on the location on the ship and local aerodynamics. Anyone know if there are standards for the anemometer installations.

there are also two Saildocs queries to get the data, either a rectangular portion of the sea or a radial one, I remember having used them while crossing the ITCZ in order to have an idea of where there was some more wind.

You can also see the data on Windy which is very handy. Thats a really interesting paper thanks.
