Anyone know anything about a ship going down in the South.

its done it again so I hear. My father just rang to ask if I was at sea as a ship with tones of wood gone down again

The vessel, which is being escorted to Portsmouth by a coastguard tug, is not thought to be at "imminent risk".

Skippers of a flotilla of mobo's last seen loading breech-loading guns on HMS Warrior to welcome the stricken vessel!

Nice claim on insurance for a ship load of dodgy timber..... /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Think of the campfire you could have when all the timber lands on shore! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

[/ QUOTE ]Actually if it continues its current predicted course your wish could come true. However I can assure you from our experience with the Ice Prince cargo you may regret wishing for it. There were individual lengths of timber floating around in the Channel for weeks - not something to encounter at speed.

The situation on the beaches was a disaster - whole stretches of beach closed for weeks whilst they made futile attempts to clear it up. We were not allowed to take any of the timber ourselves, extra police patrols were put in place to enforce this policy at council tax-payers' expense naturally. We were not even allowed to pull the timber above the high-tide line to prevent it being washed out again.

Whoever cops for this new lot will not be happy!
