Shin cup - a better pot noodle

To say something is better than a pot noodle is hardly a culinary recommendation even if it was given free !

Seriously Dylan, at your age you should be eating better stuff than that s**t.

I am concerned about your health.

If you continue like this the constant stream of your rather entertaining videos will dry up well before you reach maturity.

there were 6 tea lights in that video...

Oh dear!....oh dearie ...dearie me....

Counting 'T' Lights ?

And I though that I was sad counting the number of revs before the 'beast' started each time....!

Not really ...but I thought that might you feel better :¬)

So.....Anybody know , (exactly), how many links there are on the anchor chain ??

WE need to know !

BTW, Dylan's daily diet is always well balanced.....water, grain, malt, yeast....get the drift ??

Ah but you can feed pot noodles to vegetarians. The sweet and sour flavour doesn't (I believe) even contain dairy/eggs. I suspect that whilst the good folks at Unilever might make a marketing virtue of this ability to satisfy a greater range of crew on night watch, animal sources for additivies might be of less concern to the manufacturers of shin cup. I stand to be corrected I am Not A Nutritionist...), but 631 (which a search for shin cup ingredients turned up) is mainly animal derived. And may be contraindicated for sufferers of gout.

I suspect that googling "cock soup ingredients" might have the rozzers knocking down the washboards so I'll avoid that...

occasionally I get sent stuff

Hi Dylan,

Just got around to viewing this - can't believe you made a (fantastic and v.v.funny) clip on this noodle par-excellence!!! :D We'll have to keep on the lookout now in the deep, dark corners of Sarf London foodstores!

One love,
Martin

ps: Sorry if I didn't warn you about the heat but it sure does warm you up when it's frosty, unlike our heater which is currently in bits :(

Kabuto noodles

Look in a Asian supermarket for Ramin or Ramen noodle soup, sold in square packs. Pretty much the same stuff.

I am now a bit of a fan of the Kabuto Noodle company

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p_Y6uJBAaUA

not least for their entertaining website and creative use of English on the pots

http://www.kabutonoodles.com/

the company was started by a very nice young man - he saw my first pot noodle gourmet feature and sent me three free samples

beef, chicken and miso

(I had to look it up - it is basically fermented soya up to three years old and tastes surprisingly good)

oh yes, and his name is Crispin

and for that alone his micro company deserves our support

"With a background in pies from working at the lovely people at www.pieminister.co.uk, but a soft spot for noodles, our founder Crispin couldn’t help noticing the huge gap in quality between the noodles he enjoyed in restaurants and those he saw for sale in the supermarket.

Armed with a vision of bringing healthy Asian flavours to the humble plastic pot, Crispin launched Kabuto in 2011, ready to do battle with an instant noodle market that sells over 95 billion servings a year!

The perfect balance of Eastern wisdom and Western convenience, Kabuto Noodles contain absolutely no additives or preservatives, and are crafted with the dedication of a Samurai. They’re even named after the Samurai warrior’s armoured helmet – the perfect pot for a steaming bowl of noodley goodness!"
