I want to remove the cabin table socket in my SF4 but can’t get it to budge. I’ve removed all the screws but can’t get any movement on it. I’m a bit cautious over exerting too much force on it.
Any ideas ?
I believe the base is recessed, meaning that the hole for the leg will protrude into the room below the floor.
Maybe like this
To prevent water in the cavity (critical to avoid rot and reduce buoyancy) it may well have been fitted with sealant and screws.
I'd suggest you
1 Reconsider removal
2 Decide what you want to about the floor, potentially with sealant, screw holes, socket hole
if continuing:
3 Cut under the socket to free any sealant
4 Very carefully try to free it. If sealant was used generously it may be on, in, under and between surfaces.
Yeah. Be sealant holding her down too, I’d think. Should be just the usual desmo type arrangement. Don’t blame me if it all goes wrong…but should it be me at the job…I’d be tempted to put the table and leg into it…then give the table a shoogle or two…whilst standing with a foot either side of the floor fitting (so not to damage the floor)…see if she loosens her grip a little.
