I have twin 60mm propshafts with seals by Deep Sea Seal (Wartsilla) when the engines and propshafts were replaced the seals were not.
On my recent trip, one of the seals was leaking, however this has now stopped.
I though about fitting new rubber seals, when she is next lifted, heres the rub -
they are to order only, delivery around 3 weeks, cost around £2500 (parts only) !!!!
Looking on the web I could replace with complete new units for £1250 from Tides Marine.
They even have a method of leaving a spare seal on the shaft, saving on a lift out in an emergency.
Does anyone have any experience of Tides Marine seals?
Thanks in advance.
