Sewage discharge deck connector

There is an international standard, ISO 8099:2000, covering toilet retention systems on small craft. This gives the details for the deck connector.
What is actually used in various countries is perhaps another issue. A google search on the ISO number above returns a lot of pages in Swedish (a new law here will ban discharging to sea from 2015) and few results from other countries.
There is also an older standard, ISO 4567:1978, that might be more widespread.
Found this picture of the new standard connector.

Thanks for that, I had tried searching for Sewage connectors but couldn't find anything that looked right and had no idea of the ISO#.

PS Just googled 'Pump-Out Deck Fitting' and they appear by the 100's !
Goes to show that you need to put in the right words :o

Has anybody actually used a sewage connector???
I know the answer is yes but the pump-outs I have come across in the Med.just have long freely -fitting tubes which go down into the tank. There was also a rumour that the pump-outs hoses which properly fitted the pump-out fitting were capable of imploding the waste tank.

Yes I have used the vacuum system at my home marina on many occasions - and there are no problems of implosion if you have a correctly fitted vent system.

What I still fail to understand about these deck-connectors Is why there is a small connection chain between the cap and the deck-fitting.
As far as I can see it prevents the build up of the vacuum and potentially leaves a big mess.
I understand the idea of preventing the loss of the cap, but it seems not very well tested.

This may vary, but the deck connector I installed last year (which meets the ISO 8099 standard) certainly came without such a chain. Agree it would have been a very bad idea.
