Has anyone else noticed how bad things are becoming? I noticed at least one customer - suddenly realising that he was unable to pay - rush from his table saying "me train's going" and leaving only a few quid, so that everyone else at the table had to make up the difference. I would imagine the same sort of thing must have happened in hyperinflationary Russia, Brazil or Germany. Did scotland have hyperinflation as well at some time in history?

So which poor Scottish forumite are you getting at this time. And wouldn't a train to the extreme N leave a tad earlier anyway. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I had a similar experience. A friend had a problem feeding his GPS antenna as the connector was too big to fit through his deck gland. Charitably, I told him to cut it off and I'd fit a new one after he'd run the cable. I had to drive a round trip of nearly 80 miles to do this, but this is what friends are for.

After we finished, he suggested a beer. Bugger me if he didn't have any money on him. I didn't quite understand his explanation as he lapsed into an accent so obscure that ah didnae ken whit he was blethering aboot. I'm sure I picked up the words hyperinflation and Holyrood.

might there be a train this late on the Bakerloo line? For, on this line there i was in the company of the great explorer himself (the auld goat) at around midnight. Thinking the latter day St Christopher would advise that Paddington is my stop I nodded off after a hard and tiring day. But, not a word passed his lips as Paddington approached and I only narrowly avoided being swept to the far North or wherever the Bakerloo line terminates ...
