selling boats

Hi guys this might seem an odd thing to ask, but if I sell my boat privately do I just write out a receipt ! when I bought it from the broker they supplied a bill of sale ,do I just copy what they supplied or is there something more formal I require!

Go to the RYA website (I think you need to be a member) and you can download all the necessary Bills of Sale etc along with some very useful advice. I'm just in the throws of selling and buying and found the info invaluable.
If you aren't a member the bill of sale etc can be got from the www.mcga.gov.uk website I think.
