Hello all just a heads up on the poor service i have received from this company.
After buying a rulmate500 automatic bilge pump from them (last year) that was faulty(not working on auto)so i left the auto wire disconected and used it manually last season knowing it had warranty.
When readying the boat for this season (march) i removed the pump and checked the date of purchase and noticed i was a month over SMCs year warranty so i kindly asked SMC if they could give me the Rule warranty(3yrs) claim contact details.
They told me to send the faulty pump to them for test and replacment which i did the next day royal mail recorded and waited a week,no reply so emailed asking if it had arrived yet and was told no(Royal mail said it had)the next four emails were ignored then i phoned asking what was going on to be told it just arrived 4 weeks after i had sent it and it would be processed in the next 2 days.
I waited a month and tried phoning again to be told the pump from last month was somone elses and that mine had just arrived(de javu) i kept my cool and waited again another 3 months to get nothing.
A couple weeks ago i sent an email stating everything that has happened and demanded to get some correspondance within 24 hours all to no avail so i am now on here warning fellow boaters of this companys very poor service.
I also wonder why they did not want me to deal with rule directly as i was over SMCs warranty and just asking for Rule contact details to claim there 3 year warranty.NEVER AGAIN.

I'd just like to say that although you have not found them so, I've bought a lot of stuff from them over the years and always found them to be helpful, fair dealing and the prices good.

I'm not sure how often they check their mail, and I can see that you already have at least once, but it would definitely be worth getting in touch over the phone, I'm sure the owner would want to sort your problem out if he can.

Just a satisfied customer no other connection etc.

Can you provide tracking on this pump, as we never recived it back from you, otherwise we would have tested and if faulty sent a replacment by return.....
