The two rope organizers on my Hunter Horizon (i.e. the organizer (port & starboard on the foredeck which leads the ropes back to the rope clutches on top of the cabin) are completely seized and there does not appear to be any obvious lubrication points or way to take them apart ?

I've taken them both off the boat, any suggestions on how to lubricate them to the get the three rollers within the unit (-O-O-O-) running freely ?

Thanks in advance.

Cheers

Because most deckgear manufacturers are either incapable of appreciating the effects of aluminium on stainless or couldn't care less, the majority of these sieze up in about 10 years.

Whilst I found it possible to free them up by soaking in diesel for 36 hours before setting to work on them, the cure is short-lived as the anodising has worn through.

I've finally replaced my deck-tidies with ones, like Harken, with nylon ball bearings fitted. These were Italian and 25% of the price of Harken - However I didn't buy them in the UK.

Yes, they don\'t last for ever...

I replaced mine at about 9 years old. Get the best quality you can - ideally with ball rather than plain bearings.
