Security/ camera forreversing

Are you just prescient or do you know he does not hanker after a security system. In view of the unknowns, we don't know his vessel, we don't know exactly what his hang ups are, we don't know where he keeps his vessel etc etc.

It costs me nothing to offer options, I like to help people, spark their imaginations. If my posts are of no interest to the OP, I really don't mind. You and others might not like my approach - but you don't need to read any or my posts. The fact you do read them suggests.... maybe you are bored or you would put me on 'ignore'

You might like to try reading what people ask, i know, i know, a novel concept......

He says, "security/camera for reversing" and "with WiFi that I could also see on my iPad for docking dome style something cheap"

Not too many "unknowns" there, he wants a cheap camera for reversing.

On a serious note, suggestions for an outdoor camera and SIM card 5g data link so I can log in to the boat from my phone to see it’s all ok would be appreciated. Marina Wi-Fi doesn’t reach out to my mooring.
I’ve got one of these from Reolink:

[Official] Reolink Go PT Ultra - 4G Solar Camera with 4K Pan & Tilt

Completely standalone. Battery is charged from the solar panel and works well. Will send you an auto alert to your email if it detects movement within its field of view. Records the event to an SD card. You can view and download the event footage remotely via their AP and obviously view live footage. It’s also pan and tilt.

Same as the unit I linked to bar the SIM card bit ... there are so many of these units ... but prices can range seriously for what is same gear !

That Reolionk is 241 euros !!! I bought 4 similar Laxihub units as a kit for under 100 euros !! OK ... no sim card - but they do similar to mine that takes SIM card and they are far less money than 241 euros !!

In the UK it’s £160 (183 Euros) including the solar panel for the 4g version or £144 for the camera alone.

A similar Wi-Fi version with auto tracking is £109 but this wouldn’t suit Minerva’s needs.

I have one of the wansview solar cameras on board up the mast. Links to a 4g router (smarty unlimited data sim). Works fine. Latency about 1 or 2 seconds to the app on my phone. Stores video on an sd card or you can do cloud stuff. Cost about 30 quid from amazon. I'm happy enough with it
