I have just bought an old Raymarine ST60 wind instrument, transducer and cable from mast head. I intend to use this as a standalone instrument. Before installing this in place of an even older instrument I need to see that it works and to do this I need to provide power.
My understanding is that the "Seatalk " network cable provides power. I don't have such a cable and nor do I need one . So presumably I could just connect power directly to two of the pins in the Seatalk sockets on the back of the instrument. So;
1) There are two Seatalk sockets on the back of the instrument - does it matter which one.
2) The pins are colour coded Red, Grey and Yellow. My guess is that I should connect 12v +'ve to red and 12v -'ve to grey, is this right?
This is just to test it is working before doing the cabling etc.
Any help appreciated, thank you all.
