Possible locations are Cowbit Wash, the Coronation Channel, Vernatt's Drain or Pode Hole or areas around the River Welland in Spalding.

I had a read of the local paper and it does sound that way, but there are quite a few real boats just along from me, even a couple of quite large ones that have apparently sailed as far as the Caribbean, they've just got something attached to the mast base to lift and lower it using the anchor winch. Pretty nifty arrangement but needed to get under Fosdyke bridge anyway, they lower to go under then raise it again straight after. But the marina is apparently to encourage more onto the Nene, Welland, Witham link which they're pushing on with quite well

Define proper use of a river.
Does he mean people enjoying the natural environment, or creating more retail opportunities ?

Another scheme for a Marina off Southend is being proposed.

It would be fantastic if it happened. An all tide marina there would really open the East Coast up.

Shame the council will be too blinkered to approve it.
