Seapro Chartplotter/Radar Interface

I'm currently looking at fitting a radar & want to interface it with a chartplotting system. Rather than having a fixed plotter with a small screen I'm thinking of getting the Seapro software & running it on a laptop & interfacing it with a radar so I get a radar overlay on the chart. Looking at the Seapro website it seems this should be possible. Questions are:

1. Anyone tried it-if so what results and what radar are you using?
2. Is it possible to use bluetooth technology to make the laptop truely portable round the boat without long leads etc ? I want to be able to move the laptop from the chartable into the (sheltered) cockpit if circumstances require.

Any views appreciated.

You will need an ARPA radar, Seapro doesn't give you a radar overlay, it will only show ARPA targets.

IIRC, the Raymarine Nav software has the ability to display a radar image from an appropriate Raymarine HSB2 Radar, but I think you also need an HSB2 adaptor for your PC (I'm not sure of the form-factor of those things, if it is PCI only, it will rule out using a laptop...)

The snag is that you typically site the Radar set at the Nav station... and you typically will have your PC... at the Nav station (so where is the advantage?)
