The ancient Volvo MD-1 looks much better than I was expecting - freshly painted?

He told me that the boat has been under a tarpaulin for the last six years
Some condensation inside when I opened the hatch
It’s going to have to be a complete rewire
Engine turns over ok with the handle looks too be stuck in gear would it be feesible
To remove the engine and put a15hp mercury on the back
And no the engine hasn’t seen paint for at least six years
The engine turns over freely I can hear the injector just won’t start

A Mercury 15hp is totally unsuitable for this boat - far to heavy and powerful. Maximum 10hp but a smaller lighter 8 would be fine. However an outboard on this sort of boat is always second best so spending a bit (mainly time) on getter the Volvo running might be a good way to start.

Would anyone possibly have the torque specs for the cylinder head nuts for this engine
Also how much oil in the sump
