A friend of mine in the Marina decided to put his boat up for sale on Ebay, About 10 hrs left to go. He has had a few interested in it, several phone calls and a few bids, up to £118.000 which is not far of the reserve he put on it, which I thought was very reasonable and cheap. I always thought the F37 was a very popular boat along with the F43 and did not think he would have a problem selling it. Do you think it is down to the credit crunch? I have not seen any Sealine F37s cheaper and did not think he would have had any problems selling it.I told him that it would be better if he added the words offer subject to the bidder been happy with a survey before purchasing, as a lot of potential customers may be put off bidding for a boat that they have not had surveyed. I hope he gets some more bidding activity in the last hour or so or he will be in for a disappointment

Serious Q and very urgent seeing as there is not long to go....

My good friend who has a 2006 Bayliner 288 diesel is looking for an F37 .......

If your mate is looking to downsize its a minter and he will get a good wedge of cash (waiting) as well ?????????

UPDATE, Looked at the advert "No PX" shame!

Prices often do move up in the last hours. Still, I d assume any genuine buyer would have made contact and have discussed the boat, payment, surveys etc before bidding. I think I'd pay attention to the history of the bidders, as its not so rare for people to just bu**er off.
Might location be an issue?
Quite what is the problem, though? If it meets reserve, he will sell it for the minimum he would accept. If its doesnt, no harm done?

I looked at and thought £120k to a Uk buyer, maybe more to a European Buyer. Location does not help, but having said that £120k would be a fair price to pay.

I will watch and wait

He is not willing to take a part exchange,he just wants out of boating as he lost his job and he now has other priority's. He hopes to get another boat in a few years when job prospects improve.

That is his reserve price, plenty of flights from down south to Prestwick airport, Would suit someone who fancy's cruising the west coast of Scotland for a few years. I love it up here, plenty of shelter and Islands to explore, do not need to worry about tidal restraints.
