A bit nerdy, I know, but can anyone tell me where the fuel pickup is on the port tank? I have the original plastic tanks and I want to be able to get the pickup pipe out to give it a check as I think it may have picked up some crud.

Thanks, John. No, the aft end behind the fridge has the filler inlet, aft breather pipe and the pick-up for the Eberspacher. The main pickup must be further forward somewhere. I'm aware of the plastic swarf problem and pretty sure we've had this before, which was why I wanted to remove the pipe if I could. Last time, we blew it back from the separator end with compressed air, which cleared the debris but just dumped it back in the tank.

The starboard tank has an inspection plate midships that you can get at by removing a panel under the sofa, but there's no sign of a pick-up at that point...

I think it’s under the tv cupboard at the aft end of the saloon, if you have a fridge, undo the 4 screws around the door and it should slide out.

Sealine did have a lot of problems with blocked pipes when new. They drilled the holes in the tanks for the services, gauges and let the plastic waste made by the drill and hole saws fall in the tank, if a s/s tank would sit on the bottom, but plastic float around and blocked up the pipe and bends so check all joints and bends.

Also in the 2000’s they had a lot of plastic tanks fail, thought they had changed all of them, maybe yours was missed or maybe Sealine did them as the split!

I know they did the Motor Boat Monthly first F37 as being used a lot was one of the first to fail and also fit s/s tanks from mid 2000's.

Will call the x sealine engineer tomorrow that went round sorting them out, sure he will know and chances are he will know which joint is blocked.

An old thread, but, remove the fridge.

Inside there, at the back of the fridge plinth, against the back wall, is a removable part of the floor, the pickup & return lines are under there.

Photo shows a tank with a crack in it, after it has been cut out of the boat.
