We are arrived on Friday for an overnight stay on the boat. Once inside the cabin i noticed at the end of the U shaped seating area a large damp spot in the fabric. After closer inspection it seems water has come into the interior through a channel behind the lower helm seat then seeped into the fabric. Around the window area on the same side as where the water is coming into the boat you can see drips of water seeping out of the window frame where the leather wall lining meets the frame.
Yesterday after further inspection I noticed the seal for the electric window has a finger width gap where it seems some silicone is missing. I didn't have any black silicone on me so I placed tape over this area in the hope of ilimanating this area. This morning the issue is no where near as bad however the window is still building up with water, it looks like this may be due to condensation - interestingly the windows on the opposite side of the boat are not suffering from condensation. The previous owner of the boat never used a top cover however we have now fitted one to the fly bridge area so it could be the seals are perished somewhere - this might be an incorrect judgement as the boat was built in 2008!
I have managed to open up a hole to poke my hand through a cavity behind the window area. Placing my hand inside the cavity I can feel a draft on my hand. The cavity is behind the lower window area.
My gut feeling is the condensation is causing part of the problem as the windows are soaked. We don't want the interior to get damaged so any pointers would be great to help resolve this mystery whilst we are on board. Also, does any know the company that supplied the seals for Sealine boats and are they still available?
