Gloves: absolutely fantastic
Socks: No idea!
Have had them for just on a year.
Not sure if Squeaky is serious or not but there are of course no seals involved.
...spotted a thread on a cycling forum I go on that had several very negative replies ...
Each to his or her own when it comes to skinning seals - providing the seals consent I suppose it is ok.
As for the gloves and socks - I know some people recommend them highly. I have both and dislike both equally for sailing. I find that the gloves soak up water which wicks up one's arms and I soon can't wait to get them off before my handy wandies freeze. I also find the socks too cold on the ends of my legs - they feel as cold as a Seal - urgh! I find wet suit gloves far warmer for wet weather sailing in winter - neoprene does retain heat unlike the lining of the Seal Skinz. Wool socks in HL Deck boots unbeatable for me. So spare the seals and shave the sheeps!
