In my experience cold, wet and uncomfortable at the wrists as the stretchy material absorbs and holds far too much water which becomes unpleasant if temperature drops. The material may be water resistant but water wicks along the lining. Neoprene far better if really wet. Same for the socks - I find them cold and wet after just wearing when washing the deck. Having said that I know that racing crews in the South Atlantic reportedly use the socks - perhaps they just have really tough tootsies - mine are wimps!
