Does anyone have Andy's phone number?

If so, give him a phone... He is very down at the moment and needs a bit of help.

Really sorry to hear that - sometimes it helps to know others value you and enjoy having you around - and I can say that for Andy on here. Better times soon I hope.

Oh dear, normally such a spirited chap with a wonderful sense of ironic humour.

Hope he feels better soon; life can get the best of us down sometimes.

Hi Andy,

Boats can be dreadfully frustrating at times and can get you down. Keep plugging away.

Have you had your boat out in the recent good weather? Tell us about the trip. If she's not in the water what fix is needed?

Me too, he 'obviously' likes the A 22 and defends it against all comers, but has been very thoughtful and kind on most subjects.

He has had his A 22 'Silent Running' for nearly 40 years, and is Commodore of the Owners Association, a highly experienced and knowledgeable sailor. But he has a quite serious debilitating condition called CVS which when it flares up seriously incapacitates him and makes him feel like death warmed up. The Docs know what it is but have little idea of the cause, and even less how to treat it. So the poor man just has to suffer sometimes for a few days, sometimes fro several weeks.

But yes, a man with a heart of gold as well as being a highly competent engineer and sailor. He was very deeply involved with the developing and testing of the Harrier Jumpjet and has some amazing anecdotes about them!

A kind, perceptive and touching post. Might I, however, suggest that you edit out the medical details given that this is a public forum?

I think he's mentioned himself in the past during previous bouts of what must be an absolutely grim affliction.

Yes, he makes no bones about the nature of his affliction, and has no problem with people knowing what he is up against. SInce posting earlier this evening, he has been in touch with me again, and is clearly having a very rough time indeed.

My mistake in that case. Hope this bout of what can only be described as an extremely unpleasant illness passes swiftly and that Andy gets back on the water soon and back on here even sooner :encouragement:

Never met Andy, but hes been helpful and supportive to me on here. love his posts. Let us know if you need a hand getting the boat on the water, more than happy to lend a hand.

Me too, lots of helpful advice from Seajet. Hope this is just a Katabatic because he sails a sound boat. Very best wishes to Seajet.
