Seago 270 replacement

About 9 years ago I bought a Seago 270 inflatable. It has a wooden thwart and a high pressure air floor. It's pretty much at the end of its life, which is pretty good given that I reckoned it would last 3 years. I need something lightweight but with a high pressure air floor to replace it with. Any tips please? 2.7 metres appears to be our sweet spot. Thanks.

We also had a Seago 270 which was excellent and lasted 10 seasons before needing a few too many repairs.

After a lot of research we bought a Waveline 270 and it is even better, so far at least Waveline Inflatable with Airdeck and Keel 2.7m
Many detail features that are better than some others, including Seago, Excel and Honwaves we looked at

We replaced our Seago 270 Airdeck after 10 years with another Seago 270. If a cheap one last 10 years...

Have you considered an excel with a hard floor. If we were to replace our quicksilver I thought it might be way to go.?

They have lost the all round rope handle that the old model had. And when I compared side by side18 months ago the Waveline had better quality rowlocks etc

I keep saying it on here, so forgive me if I sound like a broken record, but I love my Honwave IE-27.

It rows well and planes well.

I paid about £400 for mine secondhand off these forums - you also see them on eBay and Gumtree quite often.

Another vote for Waveline. I bought the 270 air deck earlier this year, excellent tender, very happy with it.

Another vote for the Honwave. It allows longer trips to the shore, and use in choppier waters. Both mine, and a neighbours have leaky floors around the valves, but apart from this they're impressive.
Fast solo too.

Hang on a minute, isn’t having a leaky floor rather unimpressive???

Does anyone make a hard transom hypalon dinghy these days?. It’s amazing just how many of those old Avon dinghies are still knocking around.

It just means pumping the floor up once a week. I'm told the valves can be tightened, however I've not tried.

We bought a Bombard Max 3+ Aero in 2007 - it's still going strong (kept in the garage when we're not on board). Inflatable floor and keel, rows better than I expected, very stable, and the inflatable floor makes it feel like a hard-bottomed boat underfoot. The only problem is the inflatable floor started to leak slowly a couple of years ago - I now have to pump it up before use. I don't think that's terrible given its age Apart from that it has been brilliant, when the time comes to replace it I will buy another if they are still available. I still have hopes of getting the floor repaired when it gets worse - I took it to Suffolk Marine Safety to get it repaired and they said it wasn't leaking enough to do anything about.

In many respects the Waveline came out better, and substantially cheaper. Material specs were similar, very difficult to know if glueing lasts and more or less, but based on inspection (and price) suspect both built in low cost markets, possibly in same factory.

I'm on my second Waveline 2.9, current one is approaching seven years old. In common with all pvc ones, exposure to constant high UV will go sticky if no chaps, which mine has. It's permanently inflated and tube seams are still fine but I've had to re-glue most of the fittings as they started falling off after around 5 years, no doubt due to the heat here.

I treated mine from new with anti UV wax, plus we don’t get much sun here

I'm sure you're right, but the Waveline you link earlier is only rated for 6HP, whereas the Honwave is rated for 8HP. I have a Tohatsu 9.8 (the light two-stroke) and it just goes so lovely.

Strange, as mine is rated for 10hp.
