We used Seafarer in the Ionian earlier this month. Flotilla on a Jeanneau 33i. Our boat worked well and had a good suit of sails - couple of small things didn't work or were broken such as the topping lift clutch and the transom showerhead. One of the boats in the flotilla had quite a few problems which the team were willing to sort out if they were able.

Overall they were a good team and the boats are at the cheaper end of the market but serviceable. I felt it was value for money.

Had a week with Seafarer last month in Greece (Saronic). Booked last minute and got 50% off a 6 week old Bavaria C42. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The rig needed tweaking but other than that the only niggles were down to Bavaria. It sailed / handled really well but I was surprised by number of faults after 6 weeks use. Hinges pulling out of several cupboard doors, leaking shower drain, removeable sole boards starting to warp due to the leak and quite a few others. I'm not a massive fan of the IKEA look but personal taste aside I'd expect the interior to be better screwed together / use higher quality materials on a near £300k boat. It left me with the impression that the accountants had the final say when in came to the interior which is a shame.

Apologies...I'm getting off topic. I would use Seafarer again

I think Seafarer operate their own boats but Nautilus are primarily an agent so don't know who operates the boats.
I don't think that was true a few years ago when I flew out for a sailing holiday sitting in the next seat to Chris Lorenzo, Seafarer CEO. Separately, he replied to an email in 2018 with feedback from us regarding a trip on one of his flotillas: "I note with interest your comments about our business model and how you consider it inferior to those where companies own and operate their fleets. I can advise that we do own and operate yachts in those areas where we are unable to secure a suitable local supplier meeting our requirements in terms of quality and service."

He goes on vigorously to defend his business model, at least as it applied in 2018.

Friends of ours are interested in doing a flotilla in the Skiathos area. Has anyone had experience of either of the above companies
Many thanks in advance
Are you sure Nautilus cover the Sporades, especially Skiathos. Been there a couple of times, most recently in June. First time flights via Athens and Dream Yacht Charter boat from Skiathos but this year, hard to find any UK operators chartering out of Skiathos so we flew direct to Skiathos, ferry to/from Volos to pick up a boat chartered from Pitter who had subbed from local firm Genua Yachting.

See my other post about Sedna/Nausys.

Nautilus is an agent and the flotilla they offer is the Seafarer one. Seafarer run Sporades flotillas out of Loutraki on Skopelos. One week going East to the islands, the other West to Skiathos and Gulf of Volos. The boats belong to Sail Aegean, based in Volos. We chartered a Bavaria 36 from Seafarer there two years ago and overall fine. The flotilla crew let us join their raft one night and were great crew.
The other flotilla in the area is run by Sailing Holidays who do a two week \Sporades flotilla with flights etc.from Evia island. Just done this in August and they were fantastic, definitely recommend.

From 2007 to 2011 I, and another member of our outdoor activities club, organised 30 boats over 32 weeks of sailing with Nautilus. I have nothing but good to say about them. The current owner I spoke to at SIBS; he has been with them for a long time.

We used Nautilus to charter a Beneteau 40 from Corfu about 8 years ago.
They sub-contracted us to Kiriacoulis who then "out-sourced" us to another company (I cannot recall who...) that they didn't get on too well with - I had to intervene in an argument over which local company was supplying the petrol for the outboard.
The boat was about 4 or 5 years old and crap; all mosquito nets covering hatches were broken, 2 mugs supplied (on an 8 berth 40 footer) both of which collapsed after the first cup of tea and the anchor winch broke after 3 days. 4 days were spent trying to get an engineer to me in Paxos & Sivota.
We have since resolved to use companies that "own" or maintain their own and are off on Sunday with Sail Ionian (for the 4th time).

Another plus for Sail Ionian, chartered with them a few years ago, My searches at the time were for a family run business, can't fault them.
