Seacock.

I fitted a new seacock to the forward heads yesterday.

All fitted okay apart from when i screwed the right angled toilet pipe connection into the top of the seacock. It's 90 degree's out from where the toilet pipe is. It will need to be backed off 3/4 of a turn to meet the pipe.

So I guess i will need some sort of spacer or washer to tighten the right angled joint down, at a guess it looks to need a 2mm spacer. Any Ideas please or other options.....

Several thoughts.

Cut a washer or two from the sides of a 5 gallon plastic bottle. If you have a tank cutter/hole cutter of around the right size they will make the job a lot easier.

Cut 2 mm off the end of a plastic pipe or hose of the right diameter.

File 2 mm off the end of the right-angled joint.

Depends if it tightens onto a joint washer or not. If it does then a thicker joint washer or filing back the fitting so that it goes another 1/4 turn. I think that's what Vyv has in mind for his third suggestion. It'll need to be properly square though.

If it is not tightening onto a joint washer then a back nut may be the answer provided there is enough thread to accommodate it. If there is then you can lock the fitting in any position you like, but you'll need some jointing compound I expect. Tape may not be the ideal in that situation (Its really best on tapered threads)
