Hi every one can any one help I have a p32 running back from Bernham on crouch to my home morring on the Roach my port engine started to over heat i shut it down run back on one engine. I found that the impeller on the sea water pump had striped. I replaced the impeller cam & front plate ,but she still would not pump.Next i removed the heat exchanger cleand it out and flush ,found some bits of the old impeller inside. still will not pump water .I then removed the outdrive cleand it out replaced the o ring on the outdrive water intake still no water. Could it be the oil cooler as the water comes up the leg into the strainer through the oil cooler then into the pump.I am on a mud birth and have gone out to earley at times picking up mud into the strainer.

Did you try priming the pump? If I let my pumps go dry, before they pump again, I have to take the top off the strainers and fill with water. If I don't the pump just runs hot and dry.

Cheers,
Paul

No i will prime the pump before i start up.I took of the oil cooler tonight it was at least 75% blocked .I cleand out the tubes with a wire there was what looks like salt build up in the tubes plus a large stone.I hope its prob solved thanks for the tip i did not know you had to prime the pump first. This forum is so intresting i think swmbo is going to complain she already says i spend to much time on the boat. now i will be all night on the forum.Still i wont have to watch emerdaile any more
