Re: Scuttlebutt\'s infamous annual x-channel cruise

Put us down as probables. We are of to Cherb / Nth Brittany in the next few days but we may need to top up the wine cellar by October, it mysteriously seems to evaporate over a few months. We would be flexible over dates but depending on crew we may have room for two others.

Are you painting it pink and renaming it the youthful (think abut it) Lord Montague of Bealieu?

Re: Scuttlebutt\'s infamous annual x-channel cruise

In terms of dates, I have a preference for the earliest of those you mention. In weather terms there is a significant difference between the end of September and the end of October.

Re: A case of weather you can or weather you cant

I wouldn't want any of the smaller boats to be forced to turn back off St Catherine's Point due to adverse weather conditions /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

Re: Scuttlebutt\'s infamous annual x-channel cruise

In which case, can I vote for end of October? Zef, you up for putting your AWB through all that again? <g>

Re: Scuttlebutt\'s infamous annual x-channel cruise

AWB? - not me Guv

I'll remind you that Bedouin loved the crossing - it was those poor people in Twisters and Halbery Rassys who found it a bit tough going.../forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

Re: Scuttlebutt\'s infamous annual x-channel cruise

Small boat definitely not ready (see trashed) but I'm supercrew (well, enthusiastic, anyway)! Any chance of a bunk? Own foulies, stugeron, soh. Any date OK.

Re: Scuttlebutt\'s infamous annual x-channel cruise

Probably time I "came out" - of the shadows that is. I doubt that I can get Aeolus down to the Solent for this, so when the date is picked, and if I'm free, can I thumb a lift with somebody? I'm quite happy to sit on the rail if thats all thats required of me.

Regards, Jeff.

Re: A case of weather you can or weather you cant

Jimi,

Oct 9th/10th is the only date I can make. I'm starting a 6 week on 2 week off stint in Baku for the next year starting 1st August. Stashing the cash for next years off into the blue yonder!
