Found this on the Cruising Association website ...

Oh Lord, I've sinned
And that ain't news
But punish me not
By denying me booze.

The sails are in tatters,
The rudder is cracked,
But I'm countin on you Lord,
To get my butt back.

When my voyage is over
And my life's wind shall cease,
Let me raft up in Heaven
With no mooring fees.

Drag my sad flaggin spirit
Up into the air
With no block and no riggin'
And no bosun's chair.

As I draw nigh to death,
Warn me please, (just a smidgen!)
To allow me to repent
And take up religion.

Spare us Lord,
We pleads and begs
From having to learn
Your Celestial Colregs

Sinners we know,
Must pay in hell
Yet already on earth
We've had MDL

Your welcome awaits
But we hope you ensure
That all PWCers
Must wait at your door

There, have we now covered all subjects dear to Scuttlebutters hearts (OK, except certain meat pies....)?

A Boater's Blessing from Yesterday:

May there always be water under your boat,
May she always be seaworthy, ever afloat,
May the storms never find you; fair winds every day,
May the compass and charts always show the safe way,
May you find gentle harbor as every day ends,
May you lower your anchor amidst peace and good friends.

A Boater's Blessing From Today:

May your hull be repaired after hitting that rock,
May your bow be rebuilt after ramming that dock,
May you find that new Rolex that fell overboard,
May your neighbor quit stealing your slip's power cord,
May FeBreeze mask that musty smell under your berth,
May you someday owe less than the damn boat is worth.

Oh Lord I beg:

A force four up the rump.
Bilges I don't need to pump.

Sails that stay crisp and white
Decks stay free of Seagull shite

Red diesel that stays nice and cheap
Mooring fees that aren't too steep

Waterproof oilies would be nice
Whisky that comes with cubes of ice

In return for things like these
Come for a sail, won't you please?
