Scuttlebutt Falmouth?/Fowey?/Plymouth? weekend - Spring

Chris and I (and possibly Steph, haven't phoned her yet) are planning to spend the preceding week in the Channel Islands, then join the festivities in Fowey before completing the triangle back to the Solent. We'll probably cross from Guernsey to Salcombe or Plymouth on the Friday, then pop along to Fowey the following day.

I will email out a Spotters Guide before the event. It will contain all of the information you submitted on the electronic form, and will keep the information within the participants.
 
It's like a warm up event this weekend. I've already met Achillesheel, Goldie and HinewaisMan. No sign of KevO, but then I haven't been to a pub yet.

I only just flew back from Thailand!!!! Give me a chance to do my laundry first FFS!!!
 
The harbourmaster is expecting us on Saturday night, and has a pontoon reserved for us. If anyone is going early they should let him know they're on the Scuttlebutt cruise, as there's a discount to be had.
 
Discussions are ongoing with Fowey Gallants regarding food. Since there are going to be around 50 of us this is quite a risk on their part, preparing the food and not getting paid until we turn up.

We elected to go with a buffet, since this will allow us to a) arrive at different times, and b) be able to circulate and therefore meet/avoid more people. Gallants will prepare a substantial buffet, with several hot and cold options (including vegetarian), salads, dips, coffee and a couple of dessert options. We will be able to keep going at it until it's all gone. The cost is £18 per head. I'm hoping to get a list of what there will be on the day.

Since we don't want them buying all this food in, and then us not turn up, we will need to have a cut off point on the Thursday. If the weather is ****e for the Saturday we may just cancel, and try and do something local to Falmouth and Plymouth.

More info in a few days time.
 
Has the list closed? As its a definite possiblity for us.

What sort of time are people planning to arrive on "our" pontoon? We're going to be crossing from Guernsey the day before, into either Salcombe or Plymouth, and our choice between those two might be influenced by when we want to get to Fowey on Saturday. Obviously a to-the-minute schedule is not on the cards, but are we talking 2pm or 7pm?

The harbourmaster will know you are attending, so you can turn up when you like really. Some others have suggested early arrivals. I may be there on Friday if that's the way the weather is looking.
