Scuttlebutt Clyde Cruise - September

I think we may make Tarbert and very maybe the Friday night. Gathering crew at present not sure we can escape work early enough for the Friday gathering.

Are berths getting booked at Tarbert as It may be quite full that weekend and can I join you?

PS Eamonn saw you leaving Rothsay last weekend and heard you on the radio a couple of weeks before - keep missing you to say hello - maybe Tarbert

I fear this might be a quiet one at Cumbrae. I'm out as is Pete, Eamonn heading for Tarbert early. Escapaders not going....

But Pete .... you either Skipper or Crew on Capricious .... so what's being out of the water got to do with the price of eggs? ;)

Calli and I will be at Cumbrae in Capricious on Friday; we will have friends with us, transport allowing. We're not so bothered about the music festival! If there are others there, we'll meet up in the bar.

I would have liked to have turned up for this muster and it was in my plans to do so, however, Uncle Joe is sending me to Siberia on the Sunday so I have to fly over to Moscow on that weekend. My last sail of the season will likely be this weekend as when I get back in October the boat is getting hauled out and transported off inland for a refit. It may well be my last weekend on the Clyde as well as I am off to the West Coast after the refit or the East Coast for a year first, still to make up my mind. I hope you all have a pleasant sail and find good cheer at Cumbrae/Tarbert.

BestRegards,

I have just bought myself an LM32 and delivered her to Troon last weekend. I'm new to sailing on the Clyde (live in Aberdeenshire) and intend to take her up to Tarbert for the music festival weekend. Hope to meet other forumites in Tarbert - boat is "Lady Em". I'll be taking my guitar along as well but will need someone to do the singing bit.

Wont be there Paul as hope to leave there thur afternoon or very early fri morn.

Soreknees Welcome to the Clyde, what date & time do you intend heading off and from where?
So far it looks as if I will be solo and departing as above.
I hope to passage through the Tan and S of Bute as it is generally the fastest, but if anything above 25kts I will go through the Kyles.
Boat Called 'Hummingbird' I will keep an eye out for you in Tarbert if we dont cross tracks before there.

Paul enjoy the Cumbrae centre.

Weather forecast for next weekend is looking much better than what's around at the moment...... Extra snubbers fitted due to the high winds now!!!!

Tom.

More like slightly better Tom!
Most of the sites I have checked this am dont look too cheery for this wk end.
I was hoping to go south of bute but dont fancy having to punch my way round so might just head up the Kyles although scenery is lovely the latter can be frustrating.
Hopefully the lows will gtf before then.
Might overnight in Rothesay or PB thur.

Ah getting better, digits overlapped.

The weather appears to be improving a little for the weekend....

But it's still in the wrong direction for a 23'-er to make it back from Tarbert in any reasonable time-frame... :(

So it looks like I might be heading South for IG's 70th at the Blackpool & Fylde .... I've 'written' a 'ditty' in the style of Stanley Holloway ..... a funny-one like .... just to tak-p*ss with good humour. :D ;)

Now alls-left is to finish the song .... which is proove-in-arder than first thought!

So have a great time & no fighting with-locals! .... ;)

Is anyone going to the Cumbrae Watersports centre on Friday night? I certainly am planning on doing so, weather permitting.

If we get there we will lookm for you Paul. We have had a bit of a broken season for several reasons and with the improving forecast we hope to be able to come down river on Friday. We may need to miss out on Tarbert however and go back to Cardwell Bay on Saturday.

All of this depends on a repair to a washing machine which has confined one or other of us to the house for 10 days waiting for Godot. Sorry, I mean the return call of the engineer when he has got the spare parts.
