Scuttlebutt Clyde Cruise - September

Good God you-lot!

That means I have to sail twice the distance in half the boat! ..... & in a one-er!  ;)

Rather than having a single venue / muster point / event ..... could we possibly make it Lochranza on the Friday (as it's on the way ish) & Tarbert early-ish on the Saturday?

Although! ..... now remembering it's the 'Music Festival' ..... do you think we could have our very own pontoon, drinks, nose-bag & jam-sesh / sing around-along?

But! .... I do think the CWSC is one of the very best venues / muster-points / socials.

This thread brought back some memories..... 'twas quite a weekend - good food, good drinkie-poos and good craic even if the weather was ****.
Just met up in Kilchatten bay and hit the hotel then the fun started getting back to the boats. Even more fun ferry gliding across the west channel to the Wee Cumbrae for a bit of shelter from the southerly. Continuing the glide out into the east channel then trying to do a 180° to head for Largs Yacht Haven, not to mention the fun in the marina trying to berth with over 25kts of wind howling through the marina.
Who is organising the next one? and when?

Cliff - I think that you meant to reply to this thread:

This thread is an attempt to organize the next one!

A wee nudge up the scale.
Any others interested in the clan gathering for the scuttlebutt clyde/tarbert festival cruise?

Things are looking up for Farewell's attendance.
I feared the S'butt would clash with the Monaghan Blues Festival. I have been booked up for more than a year, but it is earlier in September this year.
So... Monaghan with a week or two for recovery, then Tarbert.
I just hope by then there is beer the pubs.

Are foreigners allowed?

Of course. As a Clyde Scuttlebutt first timer you would of course have to be involved in certain initiation rituals perhaps the most important of which is the 'Buying Pete Beer Ceremony' but there are many others.
I notice you omitted to tell them they will be in the barrel on the Friday night as they are foreigners.

I hope to be there work permitting , ill go with whatever everyone else is doing but defanetly fancy tarbert

Are you not allowed to join in the party if you don't own and couldn't play an instrument anyway, I cant even coordinate hand claps?

Of course you are.....

allowed to join in the party

It's just me who enjoys (but hopefully there are others) live acoustic music and (unfortunately thus far only once a year / season) have thoroughly enjoyed playing / jamming with fellow boat owners.

We did have a wee 'sing-a-long' once in Rothesay .... & the name for the group was suggested 'Moses & the Monotones' .... along with some others .....  :D

I'm torn between rock & a hard place .... or is that......

.... between my two favourite sweetie shops? ....

My 'owd-pal' (Ian G) is having his 70th at the Blackpool & Fylde Sailing Club on the Saturday with live music (& there's a spot for Moi!) & beer .... but I really-really! do want to go sailing & incorporating both venues / events (CWSC & Tarber Music Festival).

Sadly I won't be able to make it now as something else has come up that weekend. But there is the Millport. Country and western next weekend. Yeeeeha !!!
