Scuttlebutt Clyde Cruise - September

By-ek Pete! ... yur erly wiv-this ..... eh!

But!

If the weather is kind to us 'small-uns' I'll be there!

After all! .. it ticks almost all the boxes:

Live music.
Beer.
Good company.
A good sail (well it is for my little-tub.)
& & & a Nosebag (aka food!) :)

Only one thing I can think of which is missing ... & that's the Girls from the 'Pink Lady' ..... :)

but there are many others.
Including answering some of Pete & Ian's Mastermind/Brain of Britain quiz questions, buying OGITD some Cider :) .... enlisting in the Clyde Scuttlebutt Monotone Choral Society's 'Sea Shanties' for the tone-deaf ..... and consuming 1/2 a bucket of Curry! .... ;)

Glad to hear that foreign first timers are admitted. Count us in work permitting (which currently it does) - and subject to hearing more about the initiation rituals - please expand. I don't mix well with excess alcohol (well, not always) or saltwater!

Of course. As a Clyde Scuttlebutt first timer you would of course have to be involved in certain initiation rituals perhaps the most important of which is the 'Buying Pete Beer Ceremony' but there are many others.

If foreigners are allowed, as a potential 'local' newcomer, I trust the initiation ritual will be slightly less severe?

A wee nudge in case this thread gets lost.
I now know I have the time off work for this occasion.
But my intentions this year is to sail to Tarbert on the thur and have a longer wk end than the usual un-organised rushed sat eve.
Why not have the scuttlebutt meet in Tarbert on the fri giving all attendees the whole of sat there?
Not trying to outdo OGID or anything;)

Hey! .... me-owd -Leprechaun

That's if one had sails of course!;)C_W

Thanks ... & I do! :p

Not trying to outdo OGID or anything;) C_W

‘Out-Do’ away! .... it’s not in my nature to try & ‘Black-Cat’ (as we say in the Navy) anyone!

Just good communication, good weather, good food, good company, good planning and good ideas from some good people is all I request / support.

And to avoid nasty weather, bad food, bad beer, unpalatable wine (nasty dry acidic stuff,) fights in Tarbert & anyone throwing a ‘wobbler’ at 04:00 ..... quite funny looking back. ;)

Notice how food & drink feature in my planning ..... so I’m now adding ‘French Connections’ (from another YBW thread) to the ‘Rusty Nails’ .... I haven’t tried one yet .... & I do hope it’s palatable. :)

I did ‘polish-off’ a large number of ‘Godfathers’ one New-Year ...... tasted a bit like old fashioned medicine ...... but did-the-trick quite nicely! ..... no not 'cool' .... but I don't have an 'icon' for 'I needed to wear shades for two days'! :(

This thread brought back some memories..... 'twas quite a weekend - good food, good drinkie-poos and good craic even if the weather was ****.
Just met up in Kilchatten bay and hit the hotel then the fun started getting back to the boats. Even more fun ferry gliding across the west channel to the Wee Cumbrae for a bit of shelter from the southerly. Continuing the glide out into the east channel then trying to do a 180° to head for Largs Yacht Haven, not to mention the fun in the marina trying to berth with over 25kts of wind howling through the marina.
Who is organising the next one? and when?
