These have probably been around for a bit, but in all the years I owned boats and looked after others, I didn't have any idea how brilliant they are.

I got one for a friend whose yachts I do the occasional wash down on. What a bonus. Easy to rig, stow and they empty themselves! It's a revelation!

Was so impressed I went and got one for myself.
 
My Hozelock scrunchy died recently after four years service, that’s fair enough, don’t expect it to last forever. Very handy kit for sure.
 
They are totally wonderful as long as you live somewhere with lots of clouds. In sunshine they are perfect too until suddenly they are not and become garden sprinkler hoses on every single fold.

To be fair ours lasted 4 years often left connected to the dock for days on end.
 
wait until one blows up and bursts like in a disney cartoon :eek: , we went through 3 in 4 years, now replaced with a sturdy through reel proper hose, though we have a hozelock scrunchy as well as an extender if needed.

The one I use for the 2 yachts down the marina resides in the sink of the Sigma 33. That's for sale. Just sayin. :)

The one I got today for my house has house sized stowage space. Bonus. (y)
 
I’m on my third Hozelock one. Seem to have problems with the inner layer breaking down and acting as a flap which stops water flow. All replaced by them so hope this one keeps working. Other than that they are brilliant
 
I've got one in our motorhome, bought locally at the campsite shop and it's been fine for 4 yrs now. I have a reel up 'flat' hose on the boat which I had to buy from the local chandlery as no hoses fitted to the marina water taps - my first time in the Solent several years ago.
 
Does it show any sensible residual pressure left when it's totally stretched? I bought a similar type (ok it stretched 1.5-2x the length) and if fully stretched it took ages to fill a tank, I eventually got rid of it. As soon as the tap was opened it was like having a living snake onboard.
 
And having languished in The Colonies for a long time now

I have no idea what a scrunchy hose might be - so I've been reading posts avidly - to little benefit.
