What is the technical name of those screws used to join together two sheets of stainless steel? They typically have a very sharp thread which grip the metal together
I have seen some that have a sharp and machined tip; they seemed specially made to deal with SS sheet.
I learned something new today! Tek screws sound like a gift from the gods.
Tek-screws?
I actually have a few in my damage-control bag on the boat, just in case I ever need to screw a bunk board over a missing port or hatch. Don't want to be messing about with pilot holes in the GRP under those circumstances!

That's a variety of them, yes. They're different to the roofing screws I was thinking of, but the part that makes them a Tek screw is the odd-looking tip which these have.
Countersunk is probably not what you want for sheet metal, I assume those are intended for attaching wooden facing onto a metal structure.
