Looking for the best way to remove or at least tone down scratches on a blue hull.

Have you tried one of those scratch hiding coloured car waxes? You'll be able to pick up a test bottle at any Halfords type store and test it out somewhere unobtrusive. Good luck!

Funny, I was just reading at the same time an article about the winner of the mini-transat. On one fine day he decided to have 40 mins shut-eye instead of his normal 20. He woke up with blue scratch marks on his hull. He was being side-swiped by a cargo-boat.

Try this trick we used on super yachts some times.
Owner due in 15 minutes, sh*t! Where'd that scratch come from? Just draw over it carefully with a black felt tip pen. Black lines are far less obvious that white ones!

Works surprisingly well, especially on dark blue hulls, at least until you get a chance to do a proper touch up, and it costs nothing!

The blue one that I have tried was not dark enough so if they do a black one then it might pay to use that first.
