I have been reading a blog by a Canadian couple with a barge in France. They are observing the 90 day in 90 day out routine. Most inconvenient and for them expensive.
A UK passport holder could circumnavigate this by returning to UK by ferry or airline before the end of this year which would register an exit from EU. Next day he could crew on a yacht to Flushing. (I have never been asked for my passport or recorded as entering EU anywhere along this coast)
Not having been logged in he would be free to roam indefinitely. The likelihood of EU plod having entry and exit data if questioned is highly unlikely.
Or am I missing something ?

Good luck with it, keep us posted. Where do the daily yachts bound for Flushing and looking for crew depart from? Sorry I can't resist, I'm guilty of a fair amount of wishful thinking around all this myself. So you absolutely have my sympathy but you're off the scale:D...

If we return to the old days, passports were stamped in and out. You will be missing the entry stamp in your passport which will class you as an illegal immigrant.
I have to say in the days where we use to have to post custom paper , we use to sail from the Orwell to Calais and Dunkirk quite a lot and I can't remember having passport stamp , I can remember having to fill a form in the harbour master office , although it's been a while now so maybe my mind playing tricks .

This is where our US , OZ and other are so different to us Brit who want to play by rule .
To stretch there days to near 180 they just check in the EU then a few days later check out still in the EU some time later maybe a month or more they just check back in then out again after a week ,
If ask they say there been sailing long distance or along the Africa coast and yes they do get away with it ,
we know many who been doing just this for some years now .
I guess most Brit will be too worried about getting the rubber glove :)

Will be playing that game between Greece and Albania all summer it seems.

And in winter it will be between Montenegro and Italy.

A real pain! Gone are the Lazy summers in Galicia and the civilised winters in Lisbon.

Ah! a rebel! If you dont want to opt into society dont moan about the consequences! :)
I have not opted out of anywhere but many of my fellow countrymen most certainly have opted out.

I am a upstanding member of the establishment, a member of the Phoenix Arts Club, the RYA and Palm Beach Casino. And (after looking up the definition) I can confirm that I am not a rebel, just normal :)

Missing the fact that some European citizens are pissed off because Brexit means that their income will be greatly reduced and might take out their anger on British flagged vessels.

I've wondered about that. Although the government is making the right noises, knowing how they sometimes operate around here, PM and Customs may well scrutinise UK flagged leisure vessels, seeing them as a potential golden goose for VAT or personal overstay fines. In common with marinas, the boatyard has to submit weekly copy paperwork for boats and owners/crew, some of whom are yard liveaboards who haven't bothered taking up residence.
