Travel the M25 every weekday but saw what I think was the most scary driving I've ever seen.Came across a foreign truck that had stuck himself in the outside lane for several miles,he then blitzed his way to the inside lane causing mayhem and started to duck onto the hard shoulder and overtake, then swinging back on to the inside lane and then back to the hard shoulder again, all at 60 mph.
Don't think the Grim Reaper was too far away this morning!

probably just trying to shake the last of the toxic chemicals out of the tanks onto the m/way before completing the circuit, closing the valves and heading home for another load.

Estonian? Polish, perhaps? No working tachograph maybe? No road tax? Quite probably two huge tanks of diesel, so he doesn't have to fill up in the UK! He might even been earning as much as £1 per hour - if he was lucky!

And if he causes mayhem and gets out of the country quickly enough, no-one will notice - will they??

So much for the EU

This sort of thing happens because of the proliferation of speed cameras. More speed cameras = less patrol cars because less cost & more revenue ---> less effective policing.

No, it's quite plain: he thought he was in the slow lane by sticking on the right and moved left to overtake - no-one told him he had to drive on the left in the UK! /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Regrettably the road out of Dover up the hill towards Folkstone is the bit that they usually get their UK driving legs! Any time there is a ferry disgorging off the pier it is like a stock car derby, they sit along side each other going up the hill and hit the "Meggar roundabout" and because they dont have enough power to make the hill those on the outside think that they are the ones in the slow lane, they then find that the lorry inside them is actually faster than they are so they sit there and so it goes on, and then comes the tunnel. Ah ha! that sorts the men from the boys.

I do sympathise - the M25's just a no go a lot of the time these days. The worst I had was where the M26 joins the M25 & I had a UK artic coming in from the left trying to crush me up against the cars in the fast lane. He didn't give a stuff & to make matters worse, he drove for the next 5 miles right up my a**e, horn going etc because I hadn't got out of his way!

What a treat though. He turned off at Clackets & I followed him in there. Gave me a chance to discuss the Highway Code at length with him!

You can understand the truck drivers confuson on which lane to drive in when the natives can't get it right themselves and all drive in the middle lane.
What reference does he have in this situation???
